HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Francisco Ramos, shown at right, will act in the play Blood Makes The Red River Flow. Written and directed by Stephanie Lynn Wilson, it will be presented in February 2016 at a New York City theater to be announced. For more information, click here and here.

By popular demand, the Tabula RaSA NYC Theater production of El invierno de Abril will return to the NYC stage. Written by Ricardo Sarmiento Gaffurri and directed by Ramiro Antonio Sandoval, the production will take place in October and November at the Teatro Rafael Villalona at the Comisionado Dominicano de Cultura en EEUU, located in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood. The cast will include Jorge Luis Berríos, Venuz Delmar, 2015 HOLA Awards recipient Franco González and Ángela Pérez.

Edwin Pagán will be one of the photographers whose work will be shown at the Seis del Sur: Barrios \ˈbär-ē-ˌōz\ photographic exhibition. The exhibition will open on Friday, October 23, 2015 at New York University's King Juan Carlos I of Spain Center in Manhattan's NoHo neighborhood. For more information, click here.

Rafael Benavides will be presenting Made In Puerto Rico: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Spanglish. Written, directed and performed by Elizardi Castro, the solo show will take place in November at the Poets Den Theater, located in Manhattan's El Barrio neighborhood. We attended an event here this past Sunday & had an awesome experience from beginning to end. They served great food at venues in San Francisco and the salad I had for dinner was delicious. The service also was impeccable.
