HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface. To see what other HOLA members are doing currently, click here.

2015 HOLA Award recipient Pablo Andrade, shown at right, was profiled in the Venezuelan newspaper El Universal, where he spoke about his recent HOLA Award win for his role in the Virgilio Piñera play Aire frío and his current role in Caridad Svich's stage adaptation of Mario Vargas Llosa's novel La tía Julia y el escribidor (both produced by Repertorio Español in New York). David Ponce will star in the ArtSpoken Performing Arts Center production of Virgilio Piñera's Dos viejos pánicos. Directed by Juan Roca, the play will be presented in November as part of the V Festival Internacional de Pequeño Formato de ArtSpoken at ArtSpoken's namesake space in Miami, Florida. The production will then have additional performances in November at the Artefactus Teatro in Miami, Florida. For more information, click here.

HOLA Board President Manolo García Oliva, Kathy Tejada, and 2015 HOLA Award recipient Julio Ortega were featured in the Arte Y Teatro en NY (ArteNY) blog (the Un Minuto Newyorkino column written by 2015 HOLA Awards recipient Héctor Luis Rivera, also see below). 2015 HOLA Awards recipient Héctor Luis Rivera, also see above, is filming a pilot called "Olivia" (written by Anderson Mendoza and directed by Alan Nadal Piantini).

Johanna Tolentino associate produced and starred in a public service announcement titled "Be You" (about self-pride).
