Bochinche refers to "gossip". In this sense, we use it to highlight HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Eric Robledo, shown in character at right in the photo at right, is starring in the short film The Other Side of the Tracks (written and directed by Felisha George, shown on set, at left in the photo at right), which just wrapped up production.
Elaine Del Valle is gearing up for Season 2 of the HBO Latino interstitial series "Gran'pa Knows Best", for which she is a producer. Created, co-produced, directed, shot and edited by William D. Caballero and based on his award-winning short film How You Doin', Boy? Voicemails From Gran'pa, its star is Caballero's own grandfather Víctor Muriel (who voices the title character, itself a 3D model of Muriel).
Berenice Di Piazza was featured in the Entreactos y Telones column of the weekly New York newspaper La Voz Hispana, where her participation as an actress in the play Toda esta larga noche. Written by Chilean playwright Jorge Díaz, the play is directed by Jhon Franch and produced by Iván L. Argudo for Teatro Vanguardia USA. The production was presented in May at the Producers' Club Theater, located in the theater district of midtown Manhattan. To read the article, click on the image at left.
Alberto Bonilla will be directing John Doble's To Protect the Poets. The play has been selected as an official entry in the 2016 New York International Fringe Festival (fringeNYC), taking place in August in lower Manhattan. Casting and scheduling are to be announced at a later date.
