Bochinche refers to "gossip". In this sense, we use it to highlight HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Joel Pérez, shown at right, will be performing in the June edition of the popular improv and sketch comedy show Thank You For Coming Out. The show will take place on Monday, June 20, 2016 at the Magnet Theater, located in the Chelsea/Penn South area of Manhattan. For more information, click here.
Lissette Montolío and Maritza Vives co-starred in the play Hay un país en el mundo. Based on the poem of the same name by Pedro Mir (and Mir's novel Buen viaje, Pancho Valentín), it is adapted and directed by Domingo Ramos, the Teatro Dramos-L'Association Latino-Américaine de Montréal co-production was presented in May at Théâtre des Deux Mondes in Montréal, Québec, Canada. Ellis Vizcarra, shown at left, will be co-starring in the Nedra Pezold Roberts play Color Me Screwed. Directed by Sarah Rosenberg, the production (co-produced by Luis Reyes Cárdenas) will take place in June at Open Hydrant Theater, located in the Hunts Point area of the Bronx. Jaime Carrillo will be acting in the Nilo Cruz play Sotto Voce. The Shakespeare & Company production will be directed by Daniel Gidron and will take place in August and September at the Elayne Bernstein Theatre in Lenox, Massachusetts. For more information on the production, click here.
