HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to "gossip". In this sense, we use it to highlight HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Héctor Luis Rivera, shown at right, and Teatro Experimental Blue Amigos (TEBA) are presenting 3 veces De Grandy. An evening of three short plays written by award-winning playwright and actress Julie De Grandy, the plays will be directed by Rivera and presented in June at the Broadway Blackbox Theater, located in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood. The show will star Yvette Quintero, Kathy Tejada, Fernando Vieira, Alejandro Martínez, and Leonel Carrasco. [Shown above, from left to right: Quintero, Tejada.]

Venuz Delmar is presenting a workshop presentation of her musical Exit as part of an evening of work being presented by Sarah Lawrence alumni and graduate students. Written and directed by Delmar (and conceived in collaboration with Ioana Preda-Buburuzan), the presentation will take place on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Dixon Place (in Manhattan's Loísaida neighborhood) and feature Delmar, Angie Regina, Paola Alba, Jean Carlos, Savion Smith and Kamaria Williams in the cast. 

Lucio Fernández, shown at left, was honored by the Comité Del Desfile de la Hispanidad at a ceremony in May for his work as an artist and for his support and advocacy of the arts in the Tri-State Area (New York-New Jersey-Connecticut).

Asier Kintana will be performing in his self-penned solo show Chaplin: Behind the Character. "Supervised" by Susan Batson, the show will be presented in May and June by and at the Susan Batson Studio Theatre (where he also developed the show) in the theater district of midtown Manhattan.
