Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Marcos Sotomayor and Patrick Michael Valley, shown at left and at right, will be performing in Concrete Abstract. A series of short plays presented by Around The Block/Al Doblar La Esquina, the plays were written by William Beasley, Marian Elise, John Esposito, Lenore Grandizio, Carlos Jerome, Patrick McIntyre, James Peele, Genóveva Peña, Paula Wolff, and Allan Yashin, respectively and directed by Philip Filiato, Wilemina Olivia-García, Mónica Palmieri and Gloria Zelaya. The performance of these shows will be on Saturday afternoon, March 12, 2016 at the New York Public Grand Central Branch, located in Manhattan's Murray Hill neighborhood. Raquel Almazán is presenting a workshop of her play La Paloma Prisoner as part of Poetic Theater Productions' Poetic License 2016 festival. Directed by Mei Ann Teo and co-starring Mônica Steuer, the play will be presented on Sunday afternoon, April 3, 2016 at The Wild Project in Manhattan's Loísaida neighborhood. A.B. Lugo was featured in the weekly New York newspaper La Voz Hispana where he was interviewed on his solo show Manchild Machismo (directed by Omar Pérez), which is being presented in March on a bill with Pérez's Rhapsodia (directed by Mino Lora) and Indio Meléndez's Someday A Father Be (directed by Dudley Findlay, Jr.) as part of the Callback Series 2016, presented by Teatro Círculo at its namesake theater in Manhattan's East Village.
