HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to "gossip". In this sense, we use it to highlight HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Rénoly Santiago, shown at right, is co-starring in "The Night Of". The upcoming HBO miniseries is based on the British television series "Criminal Justice", stars John Turturro, and was written by Richard Price and directed by Steven Zaillian. The miniseries is expected to premiere in summer 2016.

Caridad de la Luz (La Bruja) and J. Santana are co-starring in the short film Bad Uncle. Written by Rob Torres and directed by Torres and Mike Walker, the film is currently in production in New York City.

Liza Colón-Zayas is co-starring in the feature film The Purge: Election Year (written and directed by James DeMonaco). The film, which is in post-production, stars Elizabeth Mitchell, Frank Grillo, Mykelti Williamson, and Joseph Julián Soria.

A.B. Lugo was interviewed by Victoria Sosa and Janice Bencosme of "Acceso Total" (Telemundo 47 New York), where he spoke about Teatro Círculo CALLBACK series 2016. The series is presenting three solo shows from three HOLA members who are performing their self-penned work– Lugo's Manchild Machismo (directed by Omar Pérez), Pérez's own Rhapsodia (directed by Mino Lora), and Indio Meléndez's Someday A Father Be (directed by Dudley Findlay, Jr.). The series has been running in March at Teatro Círculo's namesake space in Manhattan's East Village. For more information, click here.
