Whether we were born here or have relocated to the U.S. we can seamlessly navigate from English to Spanish -- whether we speak it or not – as well as geographical culture and back to our roots. In advent of Hispanic Heritage month, welcome to an evening celebrating the best in our cultural talent found in Spanish, mainstream, urban flavor and for the first time, music. More importantly, come to be inspired and partake in networking, conversation, drink and food with your “comunidad” ~ community.

Lina Sarrello              @Sarrello
Originally from Miami, she started out in musical theater ranging from West Side Story (Anita) to The King and I (Lady Thiang) and in New York theater performed at Repertorio Español and The Puerto Rican Traveling Theater. TV sitcoms have included "30 Rock" and "Inside Amy Schumer". Lina is the writer, director, editor, lead actor in the short film, LOBO: An Orisha Tale premiering at the Havana Film Festival NY, then at the International Puerto Rican Heritage Film Festival, and won in 2015 the Miami International SciFi Film Festival for Best Supernatural Suspense Film. She is the Creator/Producer of the web series Mix-Matched and has created two episodes for her Spanish-language, sci-fi series "Denizen", in which she stars as a 6,000-year-old fallen angel.

Víctor Cruz                 @victorcruzfilms
Raised in the South Bronx then in East Harlem, he studied at the Acting Conservatory of SUNY Purchase College and the day before graduation, booked his first role on HBO’s "The Sopranos". His TV credits cover the gamut of "Gotham", "Blue Bloods", "Law & Order", and NBC’s "The Blacklist". This month he premiers in the Ed Burns series set in the 1960’s, Public Morals. Then this fall see him in the 4th season of the CBS series, "Elementary". Yet in September he premiers his feature film at Urbanworld Film Festival with The Stockroom written, directed, edited and playing the lead actor (as well as his alter ego), alongside Luis Antonio Ramos and Liza Colón-Zayas. 




Irka Mateo              @irkamateo
She sings and writes songs inspired in the Taíno/African/European folklore of her native Dominican Republic while incorporating the wider influences of her multicultural background. Her extensive field research of Dominican folk music was recognized by the Grammy Foundation and brought to life in her critically acclaimed record, Anacaona. As a singer/songwriter she has created her original music inspired in the Dominican folklore. She has lived and performed at the Montreal Jazz Festival, among others. Her current work, including the single "Vamos a Gozar", showcases the contagious accordion music from the Dominican Republic and Latin America.




Louis Perego Moreno     (Tío Louie)     @tiolouie

Founder & Executive Producer of PRIME LATINO MEDIA, the largest network on the East Coast of bilingual Latino multimedia-makers and actors that hosts the PRIME LATINO MEDIA SALÓN, metropolitan New York's only monthly network gathering in which over 60 narrative & documentary filmmakers, programmers, casting agents, TV & digital media producers, actors and journalist/authors have been interviewed. An interactive content producer and educator who for the past 34 years has owned Skyline Features, a bilingual (English and Spanish-language) multimedia and educational production company developing documentaries, television programming and advertising commercials featuring Latinos, Blacks, Women, Urban Youth and LGBT. Created a non-profit video training program that over the course of ten years produced 70 documentary shorts with 1,500 Latino and Black Youth. Producer/Director/Writer of documentary feature, "Latina Confessions (What does it mean to be Latina in the USA?)" and on the PBS documentary feature as co-producer of American Dreams Deferred.
