HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface. To see what other HOLA members are doing currently, click here.

Joseph Meléndez, shown at right, has three films in the can (in various forms of post-production). He can soon be seen starring or co-starring in The Dark Rite (written by and directed by Richard Le May), License Plates (written and directed by Marc Lucas), and Akron (written by Brian O'Donnell and directed by Sasha King and O'Donnell). For more information, click here.

Fabrice Ginnette has been booking a bunch of voiceovers as of late. She recorded some demos for McGraw-Hill, promos for Music Choice, demos for Purina Cat Chow (for the Latin American market) and a voiceover for Jim Beam.

2015 HOLA Awards honoree Andrea Navedo, shown at left, won an Imagen Award in the category of Best Supporting Actress – Television for her role as Xiomara Villanueva in The CW's critically acclaimed, award-winning series "Jane The Virgin", which also won a Best Actress – Television award for her co-star Gina Rodríguez and an award for Best Primetime Television Program – Comedy. The Alex Pérez play Julián & Romero has been named a FringeNYC Featured Production of the Local Theatre NY blog (edited by Roger González). The play, also directed by Pérez, stars 2015 HOLA Awards recipient Sebastian Stimman and Edna Lee Figueroa and is being presented in August at the Flamboyán Theater in the Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural and Educational Center (home to HOLA) as part of the New York International Fringe Festival (fringeNYC).
