HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. 2015 HOLA Awards recipient Natalia Ivana Escobar, shown at right, was cast in the film ¡Ay, que susto! The short, bilingual horror-comedy was written by Mo Zapata and A.B. Lugo (also see belowand directed by Mo Zapata. The film features cinematography by Anthony Ruiz (also see belowand stars Andrés Chulisi Rodríguez, Yecenia Cotto and Lugo. [She received the role based on an HOLA recommendation.]


José Bonilla is directing the Eduardo Galán play Historia de 2. The production stars an all-HOLA cast of María Cotto and Raúl Riverashown above, from left to right, as part of the IX Festival de Teatro de la Casa de la Cultura Navarrete, which will take place in September at the Broadway Blackbox Theater, located in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood.

Manuel A. Morán will be starring in ¡Viva Pinocho! The Teatro SEA production was adapted from the Carlo Collodi tale of Pinocchio by Morán, who also directs. The solo show will be presented on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the University of Connecticut (in Storrs, Connecticut) as part of the 2015 Puppeteers of America National Festival. The short film Truth Will Out (written by Ed Trucco and Armando Riesco and directed by Trucco and Anthony Ruiz, also see above) was accepted into The Official Latino Short Film Festival. The film, which stars Trucco, Riesco, Mateo GómezSusanna Guzmán, Laura Gómez and A.B. Lugo (also see above), will be screened at the festival on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Poets Den Theater, located in Manhattan's El Barrio neighborhood.
