HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface. To see what other HOLA members are doing currently, click here.

Jesica Levi, shown at right, will be singing on a bill that includes Lisa Yaeger, Ronni Faust, Warren Schein, and David Auxier-Loyola for the cabaret series Saturdays at Six. Hosted by Charles Baran, it will take place on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Room 53, located in the theater district of midtown Manhattan. For more information, click here.

On the heels of his successful collaboration with photographer Lester Blum, Vladimir Ríos will team up with him again on a new photo series, scheduled to premiere at a gallery show in time for World AIDS Day (Tuesday, December 1, 2015). By coincidence, their previous collaboration, The Warrior of Hope, will be presented at the Brad Brafford LGBT Center in Santa Ana, California. For more information, click here.

Joel Pérez, shown at left, will be singing in the concert version of the new musical The Fitzgeralds of St. Paul. Written by Christie Baugher and directed by Danny Medford (with orchestrations and musical direction by Nick Myers), Pérez will play F. Scott Fitzgerald to Tiffany Topol's Zelda Fitgerald. The concert will take place on Friday, April 7, 2015 at 54 Below, located in the theater district of midtown Manhattan. For more information, click here.

Johanna Tolentino was interviewed by Louis Perego Moreno (also known as Tío Louie) for the Prime Latino Media Salón (co-produced by Tío Louie, HOLA and the United Latino Professionals). In the interview, she talks about her latest project– the webseries "Whatever It Takes", which she created, and in which she stars, writes, and directs. In additional to Tolentino, the webseries will star Elaine Del Valle, A.B. Lugo, Blanca Camacho, Jay Álvarez, and Solanyi Rodríguez. To see the interview, click below.
