The American Theatre Wing and the Village Voice announced the winners of the 60th Annual OBIE Awards on Monday, May 18, 2015.

First awarded in 1956, the Obie Awards or Off-Broadway Theater Awards are annual awards originally given by The Village Voice newspaper to theatre artists and groups in New York City. Since 2014, the Awards were jointly presented and administered with the American Theatre Wing. As the Tony Awards cover Broadway productions, the Obie Awards cover off-Broadway and off-off-Broadway productions.

The company of Hamilton.
The Public Theater's Hamilton by Lin-Manuel Miranda (book, lyrics, music) received the Obie Award for Best New American Theatre Work, with  special citations for Andy Blankenbuehler (choreography), Thomas Kail (direction) and Alex Lacamoire (musical direction, arrangements, and orchestrations). The award is accompanied by a $1,000 check. Hamilton, which deals with life of Alexander Hamilton, and which stars Miranda in the title role, arrives on Broadway at The Richard Rodgers Theatre in July 2015.
