Official Entertainment of the 2014 HOLA Awards

JEANNIE SOL was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Raised in a humble home, she found escape through music. She found her talent for performing through talent shows in school and in after-school centers. Her career took off after winning a few singing contests. This is where a famous producer/promoter named Jerry Masucci (of Fania Records fame) discovered her. It was through Sony Records that Jeannie released her first album Yannet Sol and Friends. With the strength of her hit “Correr A Ti” (a Spanish-language version of Whitney Houston's "Run to You"), she toured worldwide with the likes of Ray Barretto, Celia Cruz, Grupo Niche, amongst other big bands. She then stopped in Italy and that is where she won the Miss Informissima contest in Torino, Italy. Coming back to the U.S., she hit the studios to do her second studio album Yannet Sol. During her local spots she did backup vocals for Celia Cruz, Johnny Pacheco, Sergio George, and many others. Theater credits include The Jeannie Sol Cabaret, Midnight in Havana, Is There Room In Your Heart? The Tempest, La plenópera del empache, and Rafael Hernández... Romance (the last of which earned her a 2014 HOLA Award for Outstanding Featured Female Actor). For more information, click here.

She was the voice of the “singing rabbit” in three episodes of “The Enchanted Forest” for Nickelodeon’s "Dora the Explorer". Recently, she sang her original song, “That’s Just the Way Life Is”, off-Broadway at the Times Square Arts Center. She has been a special guest artist since 2011 for the We Are You Project for the Latino Center on Aging. Subsequently she was invited as a guest to sing the  song “We are You” on July 4, 2011 in “Good Day New York” on the New York Fox affiliate. Her current aspirations are to be a recognized singer-songwriter, actress, and to perform on Broadway, film and television. Her goal is to inspire people to do what they want to do and to be themselves with her music and writing. Music is my life and my life creates the lyrics to my music.” For more information, click here.
