Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Emmanuelle Bordas, shown at right, booked an on-camera commercial for Access Health through an HOLA referral.
Group of the Arts (GOTA) will present Rosita. Adapted from texts by Federico García Lorca and directed by J. Edgar Mozoub, the production will be part of the eARTh Theater Festival/Lorca Al Desnudo II, scheduled to take place in November at the Roy Arias Studios and Theaters complex, located in the theater district of midtown Manhattan. The production will star Anny Gómez de Benítez, A.B. Lugo, Alexandra Manzano, Yvette Quintero, Héctor Luis Rivera, Dilcia De Jesús, Agar García, Raúl Rivera and Pedro Vargas in the cast.
Liza Colón-Zayas, shown at left, is starring in the Stephen Adly Guirgis play Between Riverside and Crazy. Directed by Austin Pendleton, the play was presented in July and August at the Atlantic Theater Company (in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood) to sold out houses. The play has been picked up for a second off-Broadway mounting at the Second Stage Theater in the theater district of midtown Manhattan. The production will run in January and February of 2015. Robin De Jesús, shown at right, will be singing with Adam Pascal, Mandy González and Marcus Paul James in an evening of songs and stories titled Seasons of Broadway. The event will be performed in three cities in three different states (Scottsdale, Arizona; Carmel, California; and Lone Tree, Colorado) in November with Jesse Vargas as musical director. Rosie Pérez, shown at left, will return to Broadway with a role in the new Larry David play Fish in the Dark. The Broadway veteran and Academy Award nominee will star opposite David (making his Broadway debut as actor and playwright) in the comedy, which will start previews on February 2, 2015 and is slated to open on March 5, 2014 at Broadway's Cort Theatre. The production will be directed by Tony Award winner Anna D. Shapiro and will also star Jayne Houdyshell, Jake Cannavale, Jonny Orsini and Jerry Adler. Tickets are now available through Telecharge.
