Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Michael Díaz (also known by his nom de comédie Juan Bago), pictured at right, in character, was profiled in the DNA Info blog, where it mentioned his current webseries "Ask Bago" (The Flama), where he dispenses advice to people online with comically disastrous results. 2014 HOLA Awards recipient Marco Antonio Rodríguez was recently interviewed by Mike Robles & Pedro Rafael Rosado of the popular internet radio show "Robles & Rosado", where he was promoting the two stage productions now playing in which he is involved— Barceló con hielo (written by Rodríguez and directed by José Zayas and presented by and at Repertorio Español, located at Manhattan's Rose Hill neighborhood), and La caída de Rafael Trujillo (written by Carmen Rivera and directed by Cándido Tirado and presented by and at Teatro Círculo, located in Manhattan's East Village). María Cotto acted in the play El espejo. Written and directed by and co-starring Yasmar Cruz, the two-hander was presented in October at the Gran Teatro del Cibao as part of the VIII Festival Internacional de Teatro del Gran Teatro del Cibao in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.
Rosa Rodríguez and Ramón Hierro, shown above, from left to right, booked an on-camera commercial for Access Health through an HOLA referral.
Vivienne Jurado is starring in the Christy Smith-Sloman's play Negative is Positive. Directed by Andreas Robertz, the play will be performed at the Theater for the New City in Manhattan's East Village. For more information, click here.
Diana Pou, shown at left, will play Vanessa in the musical In The Heights (written by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Quiara Alegría Hudes). Directed by Waddys Jáquez and produced by Amaury Sánchez, the musical will run in November at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
