She can be seen playing the title roles in two plays for children: the Teatro SEA production of La Hora del Cuento con Pura Belpré (adapted and directed by Manuel Morán and based on the stories she told schoolchildren throughout her career), where she plays Belpré, the first Puerto Rican librarian in New York City; the Making Books Sing production of Frida (book by Barbara Zinn Kreiger, music by Brooke Boertzel), a children's musical based on the life of famed Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. Both productions are touring NYC schools and are available for private functions. For more information, click here and here.
