Bobby Cannavale (HOLA José Ferrer Tespis Award) can currently be seen in Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine (starring Oscar winner Cate Blanchett). Upcoming films include Annie (starring Oscar winner Jamie Foxx and Oscar nominee Quvenzhané Wallis), Chef and Imagine (co-starring with Oscar winner Al Pacino). Other film credits include Lovelace; Win Win; The Station Agent (Sundance Film Festival Audience Award, SAG Award Nomination); The Other Guys; Paul Blart, Mall Cop; Fast Food Nation; The Night Listener; Haven; Shall We Dance?; Romance & Cigarettes; Gloria; The Bone Collector; and Washington Heights.
He most recently won the 2013 Primetime Emmy Award for his role as Gyp Rosetti on HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire”. He was also nominated for a Primetime Emmy that same year for his role as Dr. Michael Cruz on Showtime’s "Nurse Jackie". Other television appearances include “Modern Family”, “Will & Grace” (Primetime Emmy Award), “Six Feet Under”, “Third Watch” and the starring role on “Cupid”.
He is a member of the LAByrinth Theatre Company. He received the 2011 Drama Desk Award as well as a Tony nomination for his performance in Stephen Adly Guirgis’ The Motherf**cker with The Hat. He made his Broadway debut in Mauritius, for which he was also Tony-nominated. His most recent stage appearances include Hurlyburly, Glengarry Glen Ross and The Big Knife.
Born in Union City, New Jersey to an Italian father and a Cuban mother, he was raised in Florida, Puerto Rico and New Jersey. His son, Jake Cannavale, is also an actor.
