2013 HOLA Awards recipient José Roldán, Jr., shown at left, was the subject of a profile and interview in the Welcome2TheBronx blog, where his 2013 HOLA Award for Outstanding Solo Production for his self-penned work, Forgive Me Father For I Have Sinned, is prominently mentioned. 2013 HOLA Awards recipient Vanessa Verduga, shown at left, was cast in a workshop production of the musical Frida. Written by Michael Aman and Dana P. Rowe, the musical about famed Mexican painter Frida Kahlo is directed by María Torres and will be produced by AMAS Musical Theatre Lab in October at the 14th Street Y, located in Manhattan's East Village. Gabriel Sloyer, shown at right, booked a voiceover and motion capture role for "Grand Theft Auto V" (Rock Star Games), where he played Oscar Guzmán. For more information, click here.
Gerardo Gudiño nabbed a role in the feature film Little Galicia (written and directed by Alber Ponte).
J.W. Cortés will be performing at Stand Up For Heroes, the annual benefit for the Bob Woodruff Foundation. The benefit will take place on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York. Headliners for the event include Bill Cosby, Bruce Springsteen, Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Gaffigan, Jon Stewart and Roger Waters. For more information about the event, click here. In addition, the short film he wrote and directed (and in which he stars), Conscientious Objector, will receive a screening on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at the Bronx Documentary Center, located in The Hub of the South Bronx. 2013 HOLA Awards recipient Billy Martin Mejía, shown at left, booked a lead role in the film La viuda negra (directed by Alejandro Lozano), after the casting director spotted his profile in the HOLA online directory of talent and called him in to audition.

2013 HOLA Awards recipient Mariana Parma is performing in Recuerdo, tango, a tango dance performance from The Mariela Franganillo Company.
