HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. 2016 HOLA Awards recipient Luis Carlos de La Lombana, shown, in character, at left in the photo at right, acted opposite former HOLA Awards honoree John Leguizamo in an Optimum commercial.

Milteri Tucker performed as part of the BAAD!-JACK event. A cultural exchange between dancer-choreographers from the Bronx and dancer-choreographers from Brooklyn (Tucker represented the Bronx), it took place in November at two locations– at JACK (located in the Clinton Hill area of Brooklyn) and the Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance (located in the Westchester Square area of the Bronx). 2016 HOLA Performer's Choice Awards recipient Samuel Garnica, shown at left, was featured in the Venezuelan news website La Patilla, as a result of him being one of the featured vocalists at the Guataca Nights series of concerts. This particular concert, titled "La parranda de MV Caldera", it will take place on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Drom, located in Manhattan's East Village. Modesto Flako Jiménez is set to co-star in Furry!/¡La furia! Written and directed by William Blake (and translated by Jiménez and Mariela Regalado), the Brooklyn Gypsies production (which is performed in Spanglish) is scheduled for a November run at The Bushwick Starr, located in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn. Manny Alfaro shot a national commercial in English and Spanish for Target.

Peter De La Cruz appeared in the cold open of an episode "Saturday Night Live" opposite Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnon playing the 2016 presidential candidates.
