Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. 2016 HOLA Awards recipient Maite Uzal, shown at right, is starring in the Daniela Dellavalle play A Mother's Heart. Directed by Kathy Gail MacGowan, it will be presented at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, located in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood. For more information, click here.
2016 HOLA Performer's Choice Awards recipient Elizardi Castro will be performing standup comedy on a bill with Joey Vega and Josué Torres. Billed as "Los Boricuas of Comedy", the show is produced by 2016 HOLA Performer's Choice Awards recipient Mike Oquendo and will be on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Osceola Arts in Kissimmee, Florida. Matt Antar, shown at left, was featured in Broadway World, as a result of his acting role in Atar Hadari's Merciful Father. Directed by James Bosley, the UP Theater production will run in November at the The Garret at Fort Washington Collegiate in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood. Manny Herrera, shown at right, was featured in the Locución Santo Domingo blog, where he talked of his career as a voiceover director and "motivator" (his word instead of teacher). He will participate in the Locución Santo Domingo conference on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Auditorio Juan Bosch at the Biblioteca Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Erick Betancourt will co-star in the reboot of the popular late-night comic book-style serial play Queen Latina and the Power Posse. Created by David Anzuelo, with episodes written by Anzuelo, Maggie Bofill, Webb Wilcoxen, and others, the production will start in November at the Cherry Lane Theatre in Manhattan's West Village.
