Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. 2016 HOLA Awards recipient Pablo Andrade, shown at right, was featured in the daily Venezuelan newspaper El Diario de Caracas and the Venezuelan blog Informe 21, where he spoke about his upcoming class of Uta Hagen technique (taught with María Fontanals) at the world renowned HB Studio (the first to be taught there in the Spanish language). Yvette Quintero, shown at left, was featured in the Héctor Luis Sin Censura blog (written and edited by 2016 HOLA Awards recipient Héctor Luis Rivera), where it highlighted her upcoming performance of the Tomás Urtusástegui solo show La bruta bruja Bruna. Directed by 2016 HOLA Performer's Choice recipient J. Edgar Mozoub, the Group of the Arts production will be presented at the En Un Acto Theater and Film Festival, taking place in November at the Broadway Blackbox Theater in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood. Presented by D'Ramos Productions, the play was adapted by Domingo Ramos (who also directed) from the poem of the same title and the novel Buen viaje, Pancho Valentín (both by Pedro Mir), the production is scheduled to take place in December at the Teatro Rafael Villalona at El Comisionado Dominicano de Cultura de EEUU, located in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood. 2016 HOLA Performer's Choice recipient Elizardi Castro, shown above left, will be performing in El Show de "El Lucio". An evening of standup comedy/solo theater with a live band (Orquesta Afinke), the show is produced by 2016 HOLA Performer's Choice recipient Mike Oquendo (of Mike Oquendo Events), shown above right, and will feature special guest Sara Contreras. The production will take place in November at the White Plains Performing Arts Center (WPPAC) in White Plains, New York. For more information, click here or here. Billed as "a comedy about language and the people who speak it", the comedy show is also produced by Oquendo and will take place in December at the Athenæum Theater in Chicago, Illinois.
