Moisés Acevedo, shown at right, is starting off 2016 with a bang. Fresh from his recurring role in "Daredevil" (Netflix), he booked another role on an award-winning series on the net, which is scheduled to premiere in early 2016. In addition, he will be guest-starring on an upcoming episode of the television series "Gotham" (Fox).
The New York City weekly newspaper Impacto Latin News released their best of 2015 in the world of New York Latino theater, and many HOLA members can be found on the list. They include Iván L. The award-winning production Yoleros (written by Álex Vásquez Escaño and directed by Martín Balmaceda) was the subject of a thinkpiece article by Carmen Candelario on the Dominican Writers Association blog, where stars (and HOLA members) Modesto Flako Jiménez and Mathia Vargas, shown at left, in character, from left to right, were mentioned. The production was last presented in December 2015 by Teátrica and Brooklyn Gypsies at the Bushwick Starr Theatre (located in Brooklyn's Bushwick neighborhood). To read the blog, click here.
Julio Ortega was interviewed by Héctor Luis Rivera in the third season opener of his web talk show "Héctor Luis Sin Censura", where he talked about his work as an actor-filmmaker, most specifically his award-winning feature film Medardo (written by Ortega and directed by Nitsy Grau Crespo), which most recently won an HOLA Award and which has just been released on DVD.
