Bochinche refers to "gossip." In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA
members or Friends of HOLA
who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or
recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are
listed below in boldface.
Elaine Del Valle and Liza Colón-Zayas, shown above from left to right, are starring in Stereotypically Me. Written and directed by Linda
Nieves-Powell, the short film also stars Christine Bullen, Michelle Concha, Lori Laing, Antonia Marrero, Andrea Navedo, Alana Rigal and Gina Tuttle and is currently shooting.
Abraham Makany, shown at right, is
guest-starring on the season finale of “Person of Interest” (CBS).
Mateo Gómez and Susanna Guzmán (an all-HOLA
member cast, shown below from left to right) in La Jom Atenda.
Produced by Teatro LATEA and Teatro Las Tablas, the play is written by Diógenes
Abreu and directed by Nelson Landrieu and is playing in May at Teatro LATEA’s
namesake theater in the Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural and Educational Center
(home to HOLA)
in Manhattan’s Loísaida neighborhood.
Gerardo Gudiño booked a SAG-AFTRA voiceover
for McDonald’s.
Félix Hiciano spoke in front of high school students at Jane Addams High School in the South Bronx and performed an excerpt of his self-penned solo show This is Me... Stripped. The show will be performed in May at the Manhattan Repertory Theatre as part of the Spring One-Act Competition. For more information, click here.
