2013 Drama League Awards Noms Announced – Cannavale, Ferrera, Méndez, Rivera Up For Nod

Emmy winner Debra Messing will join Tony and Emmy winner David Hyde Pierce to co-host the 79th Annual Drama League Awards, which will be held Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square (in the heart of the theater district of midtown Manhattan).

Among the nominees of the Drama League Awards are Bobby Cannavale (The Big Knife and Glengarry Glen Ross), América Ferrera (Bethany), Lindsay Méndez (Dogfight) and Chita Rivera (The Mystery of Edwin Drood) for the Distinguished Performance Award; Richard Hornos (for being one of the producers of The Trip to Bountiful) for Outstanding Revival of a Broadway or Off-Broadway Play; and Lucy and Phil Suárez (for being one of the producers of Kinky Boots) for Outstanding Production of a Broadway or Off-Broadway Musical.

First awarded in 1922 and formalized in 1935, The Drama League Awards are the oldest theatrical honors in America. They are the only major theatregoer awards chosen by audience members — specifically, by the thousands of Drama League members nationwide who attend Broadway and Off-Broadway productions.

The 79th Annual Awards Ceremony and Luncheon includes cocktail reception, luncheon and awards presentation. For more information, click here or here.
