HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. 2016 HOLA Awards recipient Alfonso Rey, shown at right, holding his winning and finalist trophies, was named the winner of the 2016 Monologando Contando Ando solo show and storytelling festival with the solo show #Popular (written by Marcos Purroy and directed by Rey). The festival took place in September at The Producers' Club Theatre in the theater district of midtown Manhattan.

2016 HOLA Awards recipient Héctor Luis Rivera stars in the feature film Dondequiera que vayas (written and directed by Danilo Arroyo). The film is having its world premiere screening in October at The Mist Theater in Manhattan's Harlem neighborhood. Gilbert Cruz, shown at left, has been booking several projects recently. He is co-starring in Betty Shamieh's play Fit For A Queen. Directed by Tamilla Woodward, the Classical Theatre Company world premiere production is taking place in October at The Malcolm X & Dr. Betty Shabazz Memorial & Educational Center in Manhattan's Harlem neighborhood. For more information about the webseries, click here. Finally, he booked an internet commercial and print campaign for Entresto. 

Alberto Bonilla, through Core Creative Productions, is producing Anthony Pennino's play Chokehold. Directed by Tim Cusack, the production is taking place in September at the 14th Street Y, located in Manhattan's East Village. For more information, click here.
