Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. 2015 HOLA Awards recipient (and 2015 HOLA Performer's Choice Award recipient) Héctor Luis Rivera and Kathy Tejada, shown above, left to right, were featured in New York weekly newspaper Impacto Latin News, where it highlighted the banner year their theater company Teatro Experimental Blue Amigos (TEBA) had in 2015. It also announced the company's upcoming production for 2016 – Franklin Domínguez's Lisistrata odia la política (based on the Aristophanes comedy Lysistrata), to be directed by Rivera and scheduled to premiere in early 2016 at the Broadway Blackbox Theater (located in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood). R.Evolución Latina and its Founder/CEO and Artistic Director Luis Salgado, shown at right, were featured in El Blog de Pablo (written by 2015 HOLA Awards recipient Pablo García Gámez), where their participation in the second annual Parranda de Reyes (in Queens's Jackson Heights and Elmhurst neighborhoods) was highlighted. In addition, he was profiled in the Puerto Rican daily newspaper El Vocero de Puerto Rico, where it highlighted about his life and career as a Broadway performer (specifically his current stint in the Broadway musical On Your Feet!: The Story of Gloria and Emilio Estefan; book by 2015 HOLA Awards honoree Alexander Dinelaris, music by Gloria and Emilio Estefan, directed by Jerry Mitchell, and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo). Due to popular demand, Teatro SEA is presenting additional performances of La Gloria: A Latin Cabaret. Written by Norge Espinosa and directed by Manuel A. Morán, the evening honors the music of Cuba's La Sonora Matancera, and its three singers: Celia Cruz, Myrta Silva, and Daniel Santos. The production stars Jeannie Sol, Morán and Milteri Tucker, and will now have performances in January and February at SEA's eponymous theater, located in the Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural and Educational Center (home to HOLA) in Manhattan's Loísaida neighborhood. This production is a collaboration with Cuba's internationally acclaimed puppet theater troupe, Teatro de Las Estaciones. For more information about the production, click here.
