HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Johanna Tolentino, shown at right, will co-star in the webseries "At Risk" (created by Courtney Allen; written by Allen and Jessica Colombo; directed by Shawn Strong). For more information, click here.

Samuel Garnica will be performing in the musical Bethlehem. Written and directed by Julián Mesri (with assistant direction by Laura Riveros), the Sans Comedia production will run in December at the St. Paul's Theater located in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn. Fabián Zarta, shown at left, was featured in the areaBogotá blog as a result of him presenting his self-penned and self-directed solo show Nariño, el otro rostro de América. It will be presented in November at the Teatro Colegio Salesiano as part of the Festival Internacional de la Cultura in Boyacá, Colombia. To read the blog which is in Spanish, click here.

Jei Osorio will appear next in Julia Pastrana de la rareza y otros talentos. Written, performed and directed by Osorio, the solo show will be presented in November as part of the En Un Acto Theater and Film Festival (presented by TEBA), at the Broadway Blackbox Theater in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood. Milteri Tucker, shown at right, was interviewed by Charlie Vázquez of The Huffington Post, where she spoke of her dance company (Bombazo Dance Company) and her latest project, Bamboula, which fuses Afro-Puerto Rican with the African dance traditions of New Orleans. 2015 HOLA Performer's Choice Award recipient A.B. Lugo was one of the models selected to be in the Greg Salvatori photo book Beards of New York. The photos, which also has plans to be exhibited in New York and London, was recently published.
