HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface. To see what other HOLA members are doing currently, click here.

Rosa Rodríguez, shown at right, has been touring the United States since September with the chamber music theater piece Tres Vidas. Based on the lives of three legendary Latin American women (Frida Kahlo, Rufina Amaya and Alfonsina Storni), the text is written by Marjorie Agosin and translated by Monica Bruno Galmozzi. The piece is produced by Core Ensemble and directed by Matthew Wright, and in addition to Rodríguez, features a cellist, pianist and percussionist. For more information, click here and here.

Monte Bezell can be seen acting in the first season of the Netflix series "Jessica Jones".

2015 HOLA Awards recipients Francisco Fuertes and Soledad López reprised their roles in the 2015 HOLA Award-winning production of Abuse/Abuso. Written by 2015 HOLA Award recipient Antonio Muñoz de Mesa and directed by Ángel Gil Orrios, the production was presented in November at the ArtSpoken Performing Arts Center in Miami, Florida, as part of the V Festival Internacional de Teatro de Pequeño Format de Miami (produced by ArtSpoken and 2015 HOLA Awards recipient Yoshvani Medina).

Luis Salgado, shown at left, was profiled in El Blog de Pablo (written by 2015 HOLA Awards recipient Pablo García Gámez), where his roles in the Broadway musical On Your Feet! (book by 2015 HOLA Awards honoree Alexander Dinelaris and featuring the music of Emilio and Gloria Estefan; directed by Jerry Mitchell and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo) and as founder and director of R.Evolución Latina are highlighted.
