HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Víctor Cruz was featured in Latin Trends magazine, where he spoke about the feature film The Stockroom, which he wrote, directed, co-produced and in which he stars. The feature film, also starring April Lee Hernández, Luis Antonio Ramos and 2015 HOLA Awards recipient Liza Colón-Zayas, was also co-produced by Elaine Del Valle. Rina Mejía booked a guest-starring role in the webseries "Don't Shoot The Messenger" (created by Craig Fogel and directed by Jules Dameron). The webisode will premiere in spring 2016. For more information, click here or here.

2015 HOLA Awards recipient Mathia Vargas, shown at left, was featured in El Blog de Pablo (written by 2015 HOLA Awards recipient Pablo García Gámez), where she was highlighted for her HOLA Award-winning role in the production Yoleros. Written by Álex Vásquez Escaño and directed by Martín Balmaceda, the show is being remounted in December at The Bushwick Starr, located in Brooklyn's Bushwick neighborhood. Vargas and the Teátrica production was featured in the ArteNY blog (written by 2015 HOLA Performer's Choice Awards recipient J. Edgar Mozoub). To read the respective blogs, click here and here.

2015 HOLA Awards recipient Natalia Ivana Escobar is co-producing the New York premiere of El principio de Arquímedes. Written by Josep Maria Miró and directed by Kevin Cass, the show will run along with Miniaturas teatrales, written by Carolina Laursen and directed by David Chocarro and Joseguillermo Cortines. The latter show stars Escobar and 2015 HOLA Awards recipient Franco González. Both shows will run in November at the SoHo Playhouse, located in Manhattan's SoHo neighborhood.
