HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Luis Salgado, shown at right, was featured in Broadway World, where the article highlighted his recent Best Director award at the closing ceremony of the 2015 Venus/Adonis Thespis Festival for his work on the Catherine Hurd-Vatrena King musical Zuccotti Park. In addition, it mentioned his upcoming directing gig in Puerto Rico, where he will direct an all-HOLA member cast of Éric-Dominique Pérez, Javier E. Gómez and Emmanuelle Bordas in the Spanish-language and Puerto Rican debut of David Mamet's Speed-the-Plow, which will take place in August at El Corralón de San José in Viejo San Juan. In addition, he will return to the Great White Way with a role in the upcoming musical On Your Feet!, written by Alexander Dinelaris with music by Gloria and Emilio Estefan. The musical will be directed by Jerry Mitchell, choreographed by Sergio Trujillo and open in October 2015 at Broadway's Marquis Theatre (after an out-of-town tryout in June and July at Chicago's Oriental Theatre). Blanca Camacho has been busy voicing episodes of the upcoming TNT series "Public Morals" (created by Ed Burns). She also lent her voice to the feature films A Walk in the Woods (directed by Ken Kwapis and starring Robert Redford) and Max (co-written and directed by Boaz Yakin).

Edwin Pagán, shown at left, was featured in Latin Heat, where his photography is being featured in a slide presentation and discussion titled Throwback: The Photography of Edwin Pagán. The event will take place on Saturday afternoon, March 21, 2015 at POPS, located in Manhattan's El Barrio neighborhood. For more information, click here or here.

Manny Alfaro and Denia Brache are currently shooting roles in the feature film El Gallo. Written by Joel Luna and directed by Ali Abouomar, the film is lensing in New York.
