HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface. To see what other HOLA members are doing currently, click here.

Plinio Villablanca, shown at right, was cast in the film Sunnyside (written and directed by YoungKi Jin) after the writer-director saw his profile in HOLA's online directory of talent and cast him. The film is an official selection of the 2015 Short Film Corner at the world famous Cannes Film Festival (scheduled to take place in May in Cannes, France).

Jason Torres was cast in the film Defarious (written by Chase Michael Pallante and Zay Rodríguez, and directed by Pallante). The film will start shooting in New York this summer. For more information about the film, click here.

Rhina Valentín, shown at left, was honored as a "Woman of Today" at the second annual Women of Tomorrow conference. The event took place at Microsoft New York headquarters (located in the Times Square area of Manhattan) on Wednesday, March 18, 2015. For more information about all things Rhina, click here.

José Sepúlveda was cast in a national beer commercial.

Elaine Del Valle, shown at right, in character, will be winning her award-winning self-penned solo show Brownsville Bred (directed by Pamela Moller Kareman) as part of a kickoff of New York's City Park Foundation's SummerStage series, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary by, among other things, presenting 30 artists in 30 days (known collectively as Summerstage30). Her show (an HOLA Award winner) will be presented in June in a park in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Brownsville (coincidentally, where he show takes place). If you are an HOLA member or a Friend of HOLA and want to submit a bochinche item, send us an e-mail. If you live in the New York metropolitan area and want to be an HOLA member, why not join? If you live outside the New York metropolitan area and want to be an HOLA member, you can find out more information on how to do so by clicking here. If you are not a Friend of HOLA, why not become one?
