Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface. To see what other HOLA members are doing currently, click here.
Luis Salgado, shown at right, won the Best Director award at the closing ceremony of the 2015 Venus/Adonis Thespis Festival for the second consecutive year. He won for directing the musical Zuccotti Park (named after the New York City park that was the birthplace of the Occupy Wall Street movement). The musical, which was also produced and choreographed by Salgado, had a book and lyrics written by Catherine Hurd and music composed by Vatrena King.
Rénoly Santiago and Luis Antonio Ramos are attached to star in the feature film Memoirs from the Streets of New York (written and directed by Joe Gawalis). Michael Madsen and Al Sapienza are also slated to star. The project is currently in pre-production.
Ayanery Reyes, shown at left, was profiled in Broadway World for her role in Carmen Rivera's play La Gringa, presented in March by Coachella Valley Rep (in Rancho Mirage, California) and directed by Ron Celona. To read the article, click here.
Vanessa Verduga was interviewed by Amber Lee of KCAL 9 (the Los Angeles CBS affiliate) morning show "CBS Sunday Morning", where she spoke about her webseries "Justice Woman" (in which she produces, writes, directs and stars). To read more about it (and to see the interview), click here.
