HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The webseries "Justice Woman" (created, produced, written, directed and starring Vanessa Verduga, shown at right) is an official selection of the second annual North Hollywood Cinefest, taking place in April in North Hollywood, California. For more information, click here.

Jennica Carmona's film Millie and the Lords won Best Feature Film at the Viva! Latino Film Festival NYC International, which took place in February and March in New York City. The film, written and directed by Carmona (and co-produced by Joel Arandia), stars Jessica Carmona; Cedric Leiba, Jr.Mateo Gómez; Millie Tirelli; Alfredo Romeo Suárez; Alfredo Huereca; and Gabriel Castillo. For more information, click here.


Héctor Luis Rivera, shown at left, acted in the Teatro Experimental Blue Amigos (TEBA) production of José Adolfo Pichardo's La otra cara de Nadís. Directed by Raúl Rivera, the play stars Enmanuel García VillavicencioRamón Hierro (see below) and Yvette Quintero, among others, and  is currently running in March at the Broadway Blackbox Theater, located in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood. The city of Lawrence, Massachusetts is celebrating its fifth annual Latino theater festival this past March. All performances are taking place at the Salón de Acto de la Iglesia Episcopal de Gracia. Some of the productions that included HOLA members are listed below.

Penélope. Written by Jorge Dávila and performed by Yolanny Rodríguez (see below). Directed by Iván L. Argudo. Presented by Teatro Vanguardia USA.

El plagio. Written by Julio Hernán Correal Triana. Directed by Yolanny Rodríguez (see above). Presented by Teatro Las Tablas.

Te coloco, cobro y me voy. Written by George Carlo (and adapted by Elías Balladares). Directed by Cecill Villar. Starring Edison Carrera and Raúl Rivera. Presented by Teatro Experimental Comunitario.
