HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Luis Salgado was featured in Broadway World, where the award-winning actor-singer-dancer-choreographer-director-producer-arts advocate spoke of his recent projects, including an upcoming one with theater luminaries Moisés Kaufman and Sergio Trujillo. For more information, click here. In addition, he is featured in Playbill Online where it mentioned that he will direct the Spanish-language and Puerto Rican premiere of David Mamet's Speed-the-Plow. The production will star Éric-Dominique Pérez, Javier E. Gómez and Emmanuelle Bordas (see below), an all-HOLA member cast, and take place in August at El Corralón de San José in Viejo San Juan, Puerto Rico. For more information, click here. Emmanuelle Bordas (see above) and Paola Tonini were among the actors who recorded over thirty audiobooks for Deg Productions recently.


Judy Torres, shown at right, will be performing her hits all over the country in the next couple of weeks. She will be one of the headliners in the Forever Freestyle 9 concert, scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts in the Bedford Park area of the Bronx. For more information, click hereShe will then perform at a Pietro's Fight benefit (to raise funds to end Duchenne muscular dystrophy) on Sunday, March 12, 2015 at El Caribe Country Club in the Mill Basin neighborhood of Brooklyn. Susanna Guzmán, shown at left, has the recurring role of Vera in the new Netflix comedy "The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" (created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock). Starring Ellie Kemper, Titus Burgess, Jane Krakowski, Carol Kane and Sol Miranda, the show, which was already picked up for a second season, will premiere its entire first season on Friday, March 6, 2015.

Moisés AcevedoJ.W. Cortés, Javier Márquez and Yenny Love are among the stars of the film Three From the Block. The film, written and directed by Antonio De La Cruz, consists of three interconnected vignettes (The Astronaut, The Police, Life is Elsewhere) that all takes place on the same city block (107th Street in Manhattan). The film is currently in post-production.
