Of this year's nominees, two people of Latino descent received individual nominations. They are Daniel Brühl, the Spaniard-German actor, who nabbed a nod for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for his turn as racecar driver Niki Lauda in the Ron Howard-helmed Rush; and Helena Bonham Carter (of English-Spanish descent), who received a nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries for her role as screen icon (and fellow half-Brit) Elizabeth Taylor in the BBC America movie "Burton and Taylor".
Louis C.K. (no stranger to awards himself) and Michael Peña nabbed a nomination each as part of the cast of American Hustle (directed by David O. Russell), which received an Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture nom. Also receiving a nod in that same category is Mariah Carey (of part-Venezuelan heritage), but as part of the ensemble of Lee Daniels' The Butler. Steven Michael Quezada, whose turn as Gómez in AMC's "Breaking Bad" garnered a nomination as part of that series' nod for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. ABC's "Modern Family" castmates Rico Rodríguez and Sofía Vergara earned nominations as part of that show's cast, nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
Above all, the immortal Rita Moreno (celebrating her 82nd birthday at the time of this writing), is receiving this year's Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award.

Of the top industry accolades presented to performers, only the Screen Actors Guild Awards® are selected solely by actors’ peers in SAG-AFTRA. Two nominating panels — one for television and one for film — each composed of 2,200 randomly selected union members from across the United States, chose this year’s Actor® and stunt ensemble honors nominees. Integrity Voting Systems, the Awards’ official teller, mailed the nominations secret ballots on Wednesday, Nov. 20. Voting was completed at noon on Monday, Dec. 9.
The Screen Actors Guild Post-Awards Gala benefiting the Screen Actors Guild Foundation will be hosted for the 18th consecutive year by People Magazine and the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF).
