HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to "gossip." In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members who are getting acting and performance gigs. The names of HOLA members are in boldface.

Venuz Delmar will be acting in a live event for the YWCA Hartford. The event, the 17th annual In the Company of Women luncheon, will take place on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford. The film A Journey to Homeland was accepted as an official entry into the Green Bay Film Festival. Written and directed by Manuela Senatore, it stars Ydaiber Orozco, Ron Sarcos and Teresa Yenque (an all-HOLA member cast, shown above from the left to right). The festival will take place at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center on March 23, 24 and 25, 2012 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Éric-Dominique Pérez
is acting in his self-penned solo show El Gringuito. Selected as the winner of Teatro LATEA's The ONE Festival in 2011, it returns for a week's run at the end of April at the same theater, located in the Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural and Educational Center (home to HOLA) in Manhattan's Loísaida neighborhood. The show is directed by A.B. Lugo, assistant directed by Bobby Baker and features choreography by Tru Essencia Dance and Wellness (Deena "SnapShot" Clemente and Wanda "WandeePop" Candelario). Rodney Roldán was accepted as a member of the SkyPilot Theatre Company of North Hollywood, California. For more information, click here. In addition, since moving to California, he has shot the films Brahmin Bulls (directed by Mahesh Pailoor), The Rules of Bro-dom (directed by Kelby Joseph) and the medical drama pilot "County."

The feature film Musical Chairs will open in theaters in New York, Miami, Chicago and Los Angeles in the U.S. on Friday, March 23, 2012. Directed by Susan Seidelman and written by Marty Madden, the film stars Leah Pipes, E.J. Bonilla, Priscilla López, Jaime Tirelli, Laverne Cox, Nelson Landrieu, Dominic Colón, Joey Dedio, Angelic Zambrana, Míriam Cruz, Teresa Yenque, Graciela Lecube, Marilyn Torres and Iván Cardona.
