HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to "gossip." In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members who are getting acting and performance gigs. The names of HOLA members are in boldface.

Iván Camilo, shown at right, was the subject of an article in the Puerto Rican newspaper Primera Hora. It talks of him as an actor and of his current project, his starring role in the feature film Under My Nails (written by Kisha Tikina Burgos; directed by Ari Maniel Cruz; and starring Burgos, Maité Bonilla, Marilú Acosta, Rosie Berrido, Dolores Pedro, Enrique Juliá, Miranda Purcell and Antonio Pantojas). Laura Riveros will be acting in the play Mae Jemison. Written and directed by Jacqueline Wade, the show is about the first African American female astronaut in space. Produced by Women of Color Productions, it will have a run in March at Riverbank State Park in Manhattan's Harlem neighborhood. For more information, click here. She will also be part of the benefit entitled Shinsai-Theatres for Japan: Brooklyn. Produced by Hybrid Theatre Works, the event is a benefit for the Japanese theater community affected by the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami and will take place on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Magic Futurebox in the Greenwood Heights area of Brooklyn. Johnathan Cedano will be performing in the solo show Confessions of a Homo Thug Porn Star. Written and directed by James Earl Hardy, the show is having its New England premiere after productions in New York and Washington, DC.
