Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface. To see what other HOLA members are doing currently, click here.
Luis Salgado, shown at right, is directing the musical Zuccotti Park (named after the New York City park that was the birthplace of the Occupy Wall Street movement). The musical, which was also produced and choreographed by Salgado, had a book and lyrics written by Catherine Hurd and music composed by Vatrena King. It will be presented in August at the Flamboyán Theater in The Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural and Educational Center (home to HOLA) as part of the New York International Fringe Festival (fringeNYC). For more information on the production, click here or here, or read more in a Broadway World article about it by clicking here.
Inma Heredia, shown at left, is co-starring in Election Selection, or You Bet! A musical written by Crystal Field (book and lyrics) and Joseph-Vernon Banks (music) and directed by Field, it is being presented in August and September by the Theater for the New City for its 2016 summer tour, being presented outdoors in all five boroughs of New York.
