Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Anthony Ruiz, Vanessa Verduga, and Adriana Sananes, shown at right, from left to right, were featured in an interview of Verduga by Raúl A. Reyes for NBC News, as a result of their participation as actors in Verduga's play Implications of Cohabitation. Directed by Leni Méndez, the play is running through August at the Harold Clurman Theatre at Theatre Row in the theatre disrict of midtown Manhattan. To read the article, click here.
Emilio Delgado guest-starred in an episode of "The Get Down" (Netflix).
Vladimir Ríos, shown at left, along with photographer Lester Blum, created two photo series– The Warrior of Hope and I Still Remember (both feature Ríos in a starring role in each photo series). A combination exhibit of both photo series will be used in conjunction with an educational program on HIV/AIDS at the SAGE Center, located in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. Mildred Ruiz-Sapp will be acting in the New York premiere production of Party People. Written by Universes (Steven Sapp, Ruiz-Sapp and William "Ninja" Ruiz), it was developed and directed by Liesl Tommy and be choreographed by Millicent Johnnie. The ensemble-driven show will run in November and December at The Public Theater/NYSF, located in Manhattan's NoHo neighborhood. For more information, click here.
