Suni Reyes, shown at left, was nominated in the category of Best Actress in a Sketch at the Official Latino Short Film Festival in New York City for her work in The Flama's "If Mexicans Celebrated 4th of July Like Americans Celebrate Cinco de Mayo", which is also up for Best Sketch. Judy Torres will be performing her hits at the Coney Island Freestyle Funhouse concert. She will share the bill with TKA, George Lamond, Biz Markie, The Cover Girls, Coro, Sugar Hill Gang, Brenda K. Starr, Noel, Corina, Nayobe, Nocera, and others. The concert will take place Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the Ford Amphitheater at the Coney Island Boardwalk in Brooklyn.
Iliana Guibert, shown at right, won the Best Screenplay -Diamond Award at the NYC Indie Film Awards for her film Twice Upon A Time. Starring Guibert (who also executive produced) and directed by Paul Borghese, the short film, inspired by true events, has been hitting the film festival circuit, with its next screening in September at the Landmark Loew's Jersey Theater as part of the Golden International Film Festival in Jersey City, New Jersey.
