Bochinche refers to "gossip". In this sense, we use it to highlight HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Ana Roshelle Díaz, Daniel Anthony Hidalgo and Zahydé Pietri, shown at right, from left to right, are co-starring in La entrevista. Written by Antonio A. Méndez, the Teatro Las Tablas production is directed by Yolanny Rodríguez, and will be presented in June at the Teatro Rafael Villalona at El Comisionado Dominicano de Cultura en EEUU, located in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood. [Díaz, Hidalgo and Pietri received their roles after reading the production's casting direction in the daily e-mail announcements HOLA sends to its members and self-submitting.]
Gabriela García and Luis Salgado, shown at left, from left to right, were profiled in Bleep magazine, where they were interviewed about their careers as triple threat performers (actor-singer-dancer) as well as their roles as co-founders of R.Evolución Latina, which is about to premiere its 2016 Choreographers Festival (titled "Bountiful: A Teacher's Journey"), which features choreography by García and concept and direction by Salgado. The festival is scheduled to take place in April and May at Manhattan Movement and Art Center (MMAC) in Manhattan's West Side. To read the article, click here.
Angie Regina, shown at right, in photo at right, is performing as the title character in La danza de Mingó. Produced by Otro Teatro NY, the play is written by Haffe Serulle and directed by Billy Martin Mejía, shown at left, in photo at right. The production took place in April at the Esperanza Academy as part of the VI Festival de Teatro Lawrence, Massachusetts. For more information, click here.
Mario Golden, Vivienne Jurado, and A.B. Lugo, shown at left, from left to right, were featured in Broadway World, where their co-starring roles in the Domnica Rădulescu play Exile is My Home is highlighted. Produced by Theater for the New City (with support from OneHeart Productions), the play is having its world premiere and will be directed by Andreas Robertz. The play also stars Nikaury Rodríguez, Noemí de la Puente, David Van Leesten, and Mirandy Rodríguez, and will run in April and May at the Theater for the New City in Manhattan's East Village.
