HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to "gossip". In this sense, we use it to highlight HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface. To see what other HOLA members are doing currently, click here.

Luis Salgado, shown at right, was featured in Broadway World, where his role as creator and director of the R.Evolución Latina 2016 Choreographers Festival, was profiled. Titled Bountiful: A Teacher's Journey, it will feature the work of choreographers Valeria Cossu, Daniel Fetecua Soto, Gabriela García, Vania Masias, Matthew Steffens, Rebeca Tomás, Rickey Tripp, and Amanda Turner. The festival will take place in April and May at the Manhattan Movement and Art Center (MMAC) in Manhattan's West Side.  stars 
in the film short Hasta mañana. Written and directed by Pedro Bermúdez, the film also stars Susanna Guzmán. The film will be screened (along with Jesse Allain-Marcus & Wade Allain-Marcus' French Dirty) on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn as part of the BAMcinématek series New Voices in Black Cinema. Aileene Pérez was featured in the New York weekly newspaper La Voz Hispana, along with Iván L. Argudo, where they were both highlighted for their work acting (an all-HOLA member cast) in the José Martínez Queirolo play Q.E.P.D. (Que en paz descansen). Directed by Argudo and presented by Teatro Vanguardia USA, the play was presented in April as part of the first annual Festival de Comedias TEBA, presented by the Teatro Experimental Blue Amigos at the Broadway Blackbox Theater in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood. Mario Golden and A.B. Lugo were interviewed, along with playwright Domnica Rădulescu, by Rhina Valentín on the talk show "Open" (BronxNet), where they spoke about the upcoming production Exile is My Home (in which Golden and Lugo co-star). Directed by Andreas Robertz and co-starring Vivienne Jurado, Noemí de la Puente, Nikaury Rodríguez, David van Leesten, and Mirandy Rodríguez, the play will be presented in April and May at the Theater for the New City (located in Manhattan's East Village).
