Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Johanna Tolentino, shown at right, booked the lead role in the short film El pasaje (written and directed by Noel Núñez).
Jeannie Sol will have a command performance of her HOLA Award-winning role in Rafael Hernández: Romance. A musical revue featuring Puerto Rico's most famous (and arguably Latin America's most prolific) composer Rafael Hernández, it is directed by Manuel A. Morán (who also stars) and will have a performance in February at Teatro SEA, located at the Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural and Educational Center (home to HOLA) in Manhattan's Loísaida neighborhood. Caridad de la Luz (also known by her nom de poésie et de musique La Bruja) will be performing with Melissa DuPrey on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the world famous Nuyorican Poets' Café, located in Manhattan's Loísiada neighborhood.
Hernando Caicedo was selected to be one of the actors in the prestigious Humana Festival of New American Plays (its 39th incarnation), scheduled to take place in March and April 2015 at the Actors Theatre of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. For more information, click here.
The short film Lobo: An Orisha's Tale, written and directed by Lina Sarrello, won Best Supernatural Suspense Film at the Miami Sci-Fi Festival in Miami, Florida. The film stars Sarrello, Gloria Zelaya, Paola Poucel, Juan Chaves, Isabella Barrett and Skyy Blue.
