"Jane The Virgin" Wins Favorite New TV Comedy Honors at 2015 People's Choice Awards

The 2015 People's Choice Awards were presented Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Hosted by Anna Faris and Allison Janney (stars of the CBS sitcom "Mom"), the awards ceremony was televised by CBS. Among the Latino nominees were Zoë Saldaña (nominated for Favorite Action Movie Actress), Cameron Díaz (nominated for Favorite Comedic Movie Actress), Sofía Vergara (nominated for Favorite Comedic TV Actress), and Jennifer López (nominated for Favorite Female Artist). The ABC comedy "Cristela" was nominated for Favorite New TV Comedy, but lost to the CW television series "Jane The Virgin", whose star Gina Rodríguez (shown above) accepted the award.
