HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface. To see what other HOLA members are doing currently, click here.

Lisann Valentín, shown at right, was just cast in the production The Church of Why Not. Produced by Theatre 167, the play was written by Camilo Almonacid, Jenny Lyn Bader and J. Stephen Brantley and directed (and conceived) by Ari Laura Kreith, it will be presented in February and March at The West End Theater, located in Manhattan's Upper West Side. For more information, click here.

Allison Strong will perform with the Allison Strong Band on Friday, January 17, 2015 at the Rockwood Music Hall in Manhattan's Loísaida neighborhood. For more information, click here.

Pablo Andrade, shown at left, was profiled in the Venezuelan blog 2001, where it highlighted his amazing year in performance for 2014 (and his current work as well). To read the blog (which is in Spanish), click here.

Gladys K. Nielsen is one of the performers trying to break the record for "longest variety show ever". If successful, the show will have lasted 60 hours (January 1-4, 2015) at The Metropolitan Room (located in Manhattan's Flatiron District) and will be listed in the Guinness Book of World Records. Liza Colón-Zayas is starring in the upcoming webseries "Get Some" (Kollide TV). The webseries stars Ángelo Lozada and Tammi Cubilette and is directed by Sonia González-Martínez (the webseries was created by Lozada, Cubilette and González-Martínez).
