On Wednesday, December 3, 2014, Prime Latino Media (PLM) and the Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors (HOLA) hosted their 2014 Holiday Fiesta. The party took place at Bar 13, located in the Union Square area of Manhattan. Prime Latino Media presents the Prime Latino Media Salón, New York's only monthly networking series for Latino multimedia-makers and actors. In addition to celebrating the upcoming holidays, it was a time for reflection on the accomplishments of 2014 and the planning of further achievements in 2015.
Hosted by Prime Latino Media's Louis Perego Moreno (Tío Louie) and HOLA's Associate Director A.B. Lugo, the party was quite the success with over 150 actors and multimedia-makers in attendance. Prime Latino Media also instituted its Padrino and Madrina awards. The Padrino (Spanish for "godfather") and Madrina (Spanish for "godmother") awards are given to people in the entertainment industry who have not only demonstrated success in their field(s) but have also given back to others in the field.
The first annual Padrino Award was bestowed upon actor and writer David Zayas, while the first annual Madrina Award was given to filmmaker and activist Sonia González-Martínez. DJ Classic kept the mood light and fun, with people dancing and grooving to his beats as he held it down on the ones and twos.
HOLA would like to thank Prime Latino Media (PLM) for their continued collaboration, this year's Padrino and Madrina (Mr. Zayas and Ms. González-Martínez), the staff and management of Bar 13 and all those in attendance who helped make our Holiday Fiesta quite a fantastic event.
