HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to "gossip." In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting and performance gigs. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface.

Ismael Cruz Córdova, shown at left, booked a video and social media campaign with Ford titled "Espacio para tus sueños" ["A Space for Your Dreams"] through an HOLA referral.

José Sánchez will next tread the boards in the Storm Theatre production of Marcel Pagnol's Marius. Co-produced by Sase Sham and translated from the French and adapted by Zack Rogow, the play is also directed by Peter Dobbins and stars Gerard Adimando, Gabe Bettio, David Bodenschatz, Laura Bozzone, Ross DeGraw, Benjamin Jones, Dianna Martin and Anthony Russo, and is set for a September and October run in the Church of Notre Dame in the Morningside Heights area of Manhattan. Cynthia Bastidas will act in Mo'olelo Performing Arts Company production of Tanya Saracho's Kita y Fernanda. Directed by Seema Sueko and Robert Castro, the production also stars Olivia Espinosa, Melba Novoa and Gabriela Trigo and is her debut production as a member of Actors' Equity Association (AEA). The show will run in September and October in The 10th Avenue Theater in San Diego, California. For more information, click here.

Theater for the New City (TNC) is presenting Nilo Cruz's play A Bicycle Country. Directed by Germán Jaramillo, the three-hander stars Frank Rodríguez, Hannia Guillén and Abdel González. The production will take place at TNC's eponymous theater in Manhattan's East Village. For more information, click here.

Sandy Hernández and Angie Regina are in the cast of Mujeres al desnudo (Naked). Written and directed by Mariluz Acosta (with assistant direction by Rosie Berrido), the play also stars Acosta, Yrisell Hernandez, Miguel Maldonado, Mayra Bello, Eliza Aquino and Jexy Losher Rodriguez, has music by Desmar Guevara and is produced by Sea and Light Productions and Paola "Pie" Soto. The production is being presented by TeatroStageFest and is scheduled for a September run at Aaron Davis Hall in Manhattan's Harlem neighborhood. For more information, click here.

Marco Antonio Rodríguez and Susanna Guzmán were interviewed by Taína Hernández on the program "Good Day Street Talk" on the local New York Fox affiliate. The spoke about the production La luz de un cigarrillo (written and directed by Rodríguez and starring Guzmán, Ismael Cruz Córdova (see above), Arisleyda Lombert and Teresa Yenque). The Teatro LATEA/Lehman Stages production, which won five (5) 2011 HOLA Awards, will have a September run at Lehman Stages, located in the Bedford Park area of the Bronx.
