The 30th ASC Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography were held on Sunday, February 14, 2015, at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza, in Los Angeles, California. The American Society of Cinematographers (ASC), founded in 1919, is an educational, cultural, and professional organization. Neither a labor union nor a guild, ASC membership is by invitation and is extended only to directors of photography and special effects experts with distinguished credits in the film industry.
Emmanuel Lubezki, known by many in the industry as Chivo, won his third consecutive ASC Award for his work on the Alejandro González Iñárritu feature film The Revenant (the previous two years he won for González Iñárritu's Birdman and Alfonso Cuarón's Gravity). Along with wins in 2006 for Cuarón's Children of Men, and in 2011 for Terrence Malick's The Tree of Life, he becomes the first person to win five ASC Awards.For more information on the ASC Awards, click here.
