HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to "gossip." In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface.

David Zayas (a 2012 HOLA Award recipient), shown at right, will be joining Kevin Bacon, James Purefoy and Shawn Ashmore in the new Fox television series "The Following" (created and written by Kevin Williamson).

Marlene Forté (a 2012 HOLA Award recipient), shown at left, is currently shooting film Single Moms Club (directed by Tyler Perry and also starring Perry, Amy Smart, William Levy, Eddie Cibrián, Nia Long, Zulay Henao and Terry Crews).

Laura Gómez, shown at right, is happy to report that the film To Kill a Roach (written, directed and produced by herself) had a screening at New York University, where she won the school's Fall 2012 Technisphere Award
for Outstanding Achievement. In addition to the award, the university provided a one-week production package for her next project, which is  already in pre-production. The movie starred Gómez, Iván Camilo, Jenniffer Díaz, Gabriela García, Rosie Berrido, Gabriel Gutiérrez and Puy Navarro in the cast. (Edwin Pagán handled cinematography duties.)

Francisco Fuertes
The new SAG-AFTRA webseries "¡Madre mía!" is set to premiere on Friday, December 21, 2012. Written and directed by Francisco Lupini Basagoiti and produced by Francisco Fuertes, the webseries stars Soledad López, David Vega, Alfredo Huereca, Juan Villarreal and Esther Montoro. The actors shown below found out about the project while receiving the casting notice in the e-mail announcements that HOLA sends to its members. In fact, the casting director reached out exclusively to HOLA members for its auditions. For more information on the project, click here, here, here or here.
