HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Marlene Forté, shown at right, was profiled and interviewed on Indiewire, where she spoke of her life and career starting her third season playing Carmen Ramos on the hit TNT series "Dallas". (Also, her being awarded an HOLA Award for Excellence in Television is prominently mentioned.) To read the article, click here.

Elaine Del Valle will be interviewed on the radio program "Shocking Underground" (Xtreme Mixx Radio) on Tuesday night, July 8, 2014 at 8pm, where she will talk about her self-penned solo show Brownsville Bred (directed by Pamela Moller Kareman), which is about to start a summer residency at the Nuyorican Poets' Café, located in Manhattan's Loísaida neighborhood. Lucio Fernández is set to star in the play Comfort. Written and directed by Jung Han Kim, the play is produced by Grace Theatre Workshop and Hudson Fine Arts Foundation as part of the Midtown International Theater Festival and will have a July and August run at the WorkShop Theatre Company's Jewel Box Theatre, located in the fashion district of midtown Manhattan. Luis Salgado was featured in an article in the July 2014 edition of People en Español magazine. To read the article, which is in Spanish, click on the photo at right. In addition, the actor-singer-dancer-choreographer-director-producer will be directing Song of Solomon. The musical, written by Andrew Beall and Neil van Leeuwen, will be presented as part of the Thespis NYC Festival, to take place in August at the Roy Arias Theaters, located in the theater district of midtown Manhattan. Howard Collado wrote, scored and directed the short film In Sitio Finis, which just finished production filming in upstate New York. 

Francisco Ramos booked a role in the action-thriller feature film Holy Fire (directed by Steven Bhiro).
